The core foundation of Bombo Foods are the unique and richly-layered broths I have spent years perfecting. We create these proprietary broths with the freshest and highest quality ingredients available, which are low in fat, sugar, and salt. These vibrant broths deliver intense flavor after being slowly cooked for 8+ hours on the stove with our complex ingredient selection. We then use these Bombo broths to steep delicious and healthy flavors into our signature dishes via the steel jacketed steam kettles housed in Grand Central Market.
We have listened to the overwhelming requests and are excited to officially offer our Bombo broths for sale! Now you can take the unique Bombo flavors home to create your own decadent dishes for your friends and loved ones. The broths are on display in our seafood market, along with the fish and shellfish I use in our very own Bombo dishes. My staff and I are delighted to make recommendations to you about which broth and fish would go best together, as well as some preferred cooking techniques. Happy Cooking!
Currently we are offering five broths for sale by the quart:
Vegan Broth: $8
The vegan broth is created by using Kombucha dried Japanese seaweed that is commonly used to enrich soups in Japan, and dried shiitake mushrooms both of which are very high in umami flavors. Rounding out the flavors are fresh mushrooms, aromatic vegetables and dried chilis.
Curried Cream Shrimp Broth: $9
The curried cream shrimp broth is created using local spot prawns, sea bass bones, and our housemade chicken broth. It is flavored with Bengali Chana Masala, other Asian spices and herbs along with local heavy cream.
Lobster Broth: $10
The Lobster Broth is a rich and spicy lobster and fish based broth with tomato, saffron, and dried chilis.
Chicken Broth: $8
The chicken broth is enriched with additional chicken bones, aromatic vegetables, and spices. We use the pressure cooker to capture all of the flavors and aromas from the ingredients. This gives the broth double rich flavor.
Saffron Broth: $10
The saffron broth starts as enriched chicken broth with added saffron, garlic, and a selection of herbs. The broth is then slowly simmered down, doubling it’s richness.
